Once up on a time a poisonous toad lived in the South Sea Islands, unwanted and unloved. The creature was really a head ache, in fact an ecological disaster. The Australian army was even deployed to get rid of it. So what changed the life of the poor poisonous creature? A Polish designer named Monika Jarosz of Kobja brand changed the life of the toad from a villain to a hero. The skins of the cane toad have become a precious luxury fashion material.
How the story began? It started with a gift. Monika received a "stuffed frog" as a gift from her friend. At first she felt disgusting but soon it started fascinating her. She went in search of this toad in lot of places. She enquired at lot of restaurants serving frog legs. But no use, until she discovered about South Sea Islands where they had tried to end the cane toad problem which in turn started effecting the ecological balance since other species were also destroyed. Three years later, her luxury business is producing and selling bags, belts and purses made from whole skins of this cane toad. It is now sold in different array of colours in Asia, Europe and US. A single purse can cost from 220 to 250 euros. :D :)
