Lasers might cure Alzheimer's and Parkinson's

a multi-photon laser technique can be used to detect and remove aggregates that cause Alzheimer's and Parkinson's
Latest findings says that Lasers might be the cure for brain diseases such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's. Researchers at Chalmers University in Sweden along with researchers at the Polish Wroclaw University of technology made this discovery that might be the future of patients suffering from brain diseases.

The news came in the journal Nature Photonics, that through photo therapy (multi-photon laser technique) it is possible to distinguish aggregations of the proteins, which is believed to cause the diseases from well -functioning proteins in the body.

"Nobody has talked about using only light to treat these diseases until now. This is a totally new approach and we believe that this might become a breakthrough in the research of diseases such as Alzheimer's, Parkinson's and Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease. We have found a totally new way of discovering these structures using just laser light", says Piotr Hanczyc at Chalmers University of Technology.

Researches keeps high hope on this therapy. Now a days amyloid protein aggregates are treated with chemicals for both detection as well as removal. But these chemicals are highly toxic and harmful for the patients. With the development of this photo therapy, the chemical usage can be prevented. Nor would surgery be necessary for removing of aggregates. Lets hope for the best.
